Mehitabel came home two weeks ago. Until then she was on stands in a driveway in RI, living under another name and awaiting a new owner. That became me. New owner, new name. New adventures underway.

This blog is about my return to sailing. This summer I found a neat little boat that serves my purpose well; a Freedom21 catboat. It's fiberglas, has a carbon mast and even sports a spinnaker! How cool is that?! It can be easily singlehanded from the cockpit.

From the start it's been a good thing. The previous owner took good care of her. I found a marine hauler who was terrific and who I'd recommend. He was courteous professional and didn't blink an eye having a female in charge of the boat. The next great thing was the guy who soda blasted the bottom paint off. Also courteous, professional and really helpful. As a female sailor there can be 'headwinds' with dealing with marine and marina people. So far so good. Contact me for references.

Photos coming soon.
