On the hook in Banderas Bay
18 November 2008 | N 20 degrees 57.5, W 105 degrees 40.5 Punta Mita
Dear Friends. It took us about 1/2 hour to remove our first aft anchor that we spent 1 hour and 3 attempts to put down in Chacala. We guess that we did a pretty good job deploying that one. We sailed down with 30 knot winds. Rounding the point is difficult because the GPS charts are over 1 mile off and there are reports of 3 submerged rocks off shore but no one knows where they are. Basically using only radar we took a 3 mile wide route around the point and are now anchored about 3/8th of a mile off the beach in Punta Mita. As you can tell, our Wifi booster antennae is working better than our spelling. We will go into a marina in the AM and send pictures then.
Happy google earth to you until we blog again.
