Swimming and sailing with the Mammals

Hola Amigos, What a wonderful nature ride from Ipala to Chamela.
We were 2 miles off beautiful sandy beaches and Lewis was at the bow of the boat to try to avoid all of the sea turtles.Luckily they can dive when they see us which makes it almost impossible for us to take their picture.
After a 50 mile trip down we were ready to enter the Chamela Channel which is 1 mile wide but has a reef extending 1/2 mile from the north.Still it was going to be our easiest entrance with 2 miles by 4 miles of harbor. While making our approach there was a HUGH splash about 200 feet from us. Lewis was worried that it was an uncharted breaking reef or that we were off course. We then saw this gigantic whale showing off its body to us. We could even see the barnacles on its fins as it did a gentle 360 roll. Lewis was trying to take pictures while entering the harbor. Luckily he is a better captain than photographer.
Once anchored safely,Lewis went for a swim off the stern.A Dolphin swam to him and started to swim circles as Lewis spun like a top. The Dolphin left and Lewis tried to call it back for an encore using his best Spanish-Dophinese. Those classes are paying off because the Dolphin came back and they played together for another minute.
One more day here and then off to Tenacatita and it famous dingy jungle cruise.
Happy swimming with the Dolphins to you until we blog again.
