A DAY IN THE LIFE AT THE BEACH
21 April 2011 | LA PAZ
Hola Amigos,
As you probably have realized, we have tried to paint a picture that the Cruising Life is just milk and honey in the morning and then wine and roses in the evening. As with everything there is a darker more complicated side. First of all the boat does not have a walk-in closet. Instead of remodeling your boat you have to go to where the weather is warm enough that a bathing suit is the “Fashion du Jour“.
Another challenge is walking to the Facilities. That walk is a lot longer on some days than others, if you get our drift. Even before contemplating your trek you have to remember your key to the Facilities and for getting back on the dock. Sometimes that little lapse in concentration can lead to monumental consequences unless you are a SEAL and are used to flossing with razor wire or good at picking locks.
Today Mary Lee had to face a new challenge. She wanted a massage and it is really hard to get one on a boat. Usually the masseuse will use her home but in La Paz her masseuse lives on her boat which is anchored out.
No worries, Mon. ML was picked up at our boat by a dingy. She was then chauffeured to an island where she finds the massage table nestled behind a big bush a few yards from the beach. Under blue sunny skies, the waves were lapping the shore while the wind was blowing her hair. Such are the hardships of Cruisers.
Happy Hard Trails to you until we Blog again,
The Merry Lee
