Grandkids flying higher than an eagle
21 December 2008 | Ixtapa Marina
Feliz Navidad, As you know, The crew of the Merry Lee is not adverse to taking some risks but one thing we won't do is go parasailing.
We were on the beach in Ixtapa and both grandkids wanted to try it. We naively asked if there was an age limit for that in Mexico. Surprisingly 4 y/o is no problem. Angela's father took Kaylie( age 6) and Angela's sister's friend took Cade(age 4). They want to do it again today. Any volunteers? This shows that it is difficult to be a grandparent and know what is acceptible behavior. Let's say that we had the kids by ourselves. They ask us if they can go para sailing. They then tell us that their parents let them do it all the time. Once you return home with the kids the parents say" You did WHAT with our kids?!?!?!".Such are the inherit hazards of being grandparents and we are not even talking about using the ER word yet.
After sunset we decided to go to Zihua. There are 10 of us. Even without those pesky seatbelt/car seat laws it was a minor miracle to get everyone in 2 cabs. It was a cab convoy or as cruisers would say,we we buddy cabbing. We had a wonderful outdoor table and then it started to rain. We quickly procurred a wonderful indoor table.
There was a guitar player there. Can you guess what shy Cade did? Yep ;got right up there and grabbed the mike and grinned a toon.
At 7AM this AM Lewis was walking to the WC. in the Marina's office. On the way he was invited to a party on Crocodile Bridge that apparently had been going all night. Is'nt Mexico wonderful?
Happy Parasailing to you until we Blog again.
