Hola Amigos and we appreciate that you check us out every once in awhile to see what we have been up to. We have good Wifi.
We have been doing a little adventure on the hook.. We spent 2 weeks on our anchor outside of Marinas and beautiful bays, getting ourselves ready for the Sea of Cortez.
We left Ixtapa Marina and went to Manzanillo outside of Las Hadas for a week.. We then did a day in Santiago Bay.
From there we went to Tenaacatita bay. That is where the action started. Lewis thought that a young whale had been hurt because it kept on shaking its tail. A wiser person suggested that it was a young whale showing off its stuff. Parents of boys should have figured out that. We did the jungle cruise again and in the middle of the Mangroves we met Sweet Dreams. We hung out with them until La Cruz. Funny how you can meet people in the middle of nowhere
We then went to another beautiful bay, Chamela, dodging several whales again.
We were planning on staying a few days there but SolmateSantiago's weather predicted a little front going through so we left early. Again we were dodging whales. Mary Lee called us a whale magnet. Close whale encounters of a third kind. What we really liked was not having any encounters with fishing lines. Where have all of the fishing lines gone?
We had an uneventful, from a wind and sea standpoint, trip to La Cruz in Banderas Bay
We have not seen so many sailboats since we left Cabo. The net here is very busy with over 50 boats checking in. We are learning all sorts of new radio tricks.
There are many boats here for the "Puddle Jump", the 3000 mile trip to the Marquesis in Polynesia.
We washed the boat, checked in with the Port Captain, went to the yard to get an estimate for pulling the boat, talked to the Harbor Master to negotiate a lower slip fee, emailed the owner of the yard to negotiate a lower fee there, emailed another yard for their price and then Mary Lee had 3 other boats on board for Happy Hour. We hope that our friends stop worrying about us being bored onboard the Merry Lee.
Happy whale of an encounter to you until we Blog again,
Mary Lee and Lewis
