Hola Amigos, We are having a great trip and are making much better progress than we were expecting. When the worse part of your day is not catching a tuna for sushi, then your trip is going quite well. We still are waiting to use our wasabi and pickled ginger. The line is out. The winds are light at 8 knots now and got up to 17 yesterday PM but that was probable Cape Effect around Cabo Lazaro. The swells are up to 10 feet but they are far apart so at that their crest we have a better view.We are averaging almost 6 knots. We have only seen 3 boats and no sail boats. We were expecting to run into fellow cruisers who were taking advantage of this weather window. We heard weather on our little Single Side Band Radio Receiver and it looks like we have good weather until Tuesday when we plan on entering Ensenada. The Merry Lee carries more fuel than most sailboats so the other cruisers may be further outside looking for wind. We carry 110 gallons in our tanks and 10 gallons of fuel in Jerry cans. We use about 1 gallon an hour. We plan on getting to Turtle Bay tomorrow morning and figure on getting 70 to 80 gallons on fuel there. You anchor out in the bay and they bring the fuel to you in their Pangas. Ensenada is 275 miles from Turtle Bay. If we continue to hold our luck, that is about 48 hours. There may be a storm front coming in on Tuesday so will we will be safe but it may take awhile to make the 65 miles to San Diego. We wonder if there are any bars in Ensenada. We had Dorado for dinner and will have Ceviche for lunch. As you can tell we really really need that tuna.
We again want to thank our Family for their SMS messages. Keep them coming. Please let us know if this Blog went through.
Happy Travels to you until we Blog again.
