It was just yesterday my boss came in to our skiff and asked if I had gotten cold feet yet. I then proceeded to tell him that I am prone to getting cold feet and have to keep them covered even while sleeping, weather at home or on the boat. I told him that I don't want to catch a cold in the middle of summer. He just stood there and looked at me like I was out of my mind. Well, I am, a little, you have to be in the line of work I am in. Then it dawned on me what he was getting at. I had everybody going in the room! I then proceeded to explain to him that my adventure is still three years away and getting cold feet at this point was way too early. I told him that with all the upgrades to Midnight Breeze and all the planning and reading that goes into a dream like this you really don't get a chance to get cold feet until the day you are too leave. Dave, he said, I know you just finished a graveyard shift, I think you really need to go home and get some sleep. You could even take a couple of days off if you like. By this time I am rolling in my seat. I really had him going! He looked at me and finally caught on to what I was doing. We all had a good laugh. I knew from the beginning what he was getting at but I wanted to play dumb. Finally I told him I don't have cold feet, yet. Then I showed him the two pair of socks I was wearing to keep my feet warm because the skiff here is kept cold to keep all our computers running efficiently. It was about this time he gave up and started to walk off saying something to the fact that I am a lost cause.
"No, Mary my love, I do not have cold feet and in two weeks when we exchange vows and you become my wife and I your husband then maybe you will believe me. But, until that time, please keep the covers on the bed for me my love, my feet do to tend to get real cold when they are not covered!"

Ps. As you all know Mary's and my wedding day is fast approaching (July 4th) and I just wanted to let her know everything is just fine. If you are unfamiliar with our story please take the time to read the whole blog from day one. I will probably have one more post for this coming weekend out on Midnight Breeze then its off to our honeymoon. Yes, before our wedding day, just the way our off days lined up. We are going to take Midnight Breeze over to St. Michaels for a couple of days.
Until next time?
Be safe!
