The boat shows are over and Midnight Breeze has a haul-out appointment on November 1. All in all this has been a very good summer of learning. Mary and I were limited in some ways because there were a lot of times we wanted to go out an anchor and decided not to because we have a manual windlass, and we both have problems with getting the anchor up, her arms and my back. So this year we are upgrading to a motorized windless. It has a remote control that counts out the length of chain and line that is used. How kool! One upgrade completed. We also added a new bow roller so we can handle two anchors instead of one. We upgraded our electronics to the latest on the market and made sure that it talks to every other piece of electronic equipment including my laptop computer. We added another air conditioner for the master cabin and had a vacuflush head installed. We even added one electric winch to help with the chores. With all that we have added, some of you might say why not just buy a new boat? We thought long and hard about that and even went to the power boat show to look at trawlers. That was a waste of time. The trawlers are way over priced and it is hard for me to see how anyone can afford one. $400,000 for a 36ft trawler? I think not. I can get a lot of sailboat for that price. So we made all our purchases under one roof at the sailboat show. What a day! You might be asking when all this will be installed? It will all be ready by May first when we launch the new Midnight Breeze, a new 2011 43ft Beneteau. And officially I can now say that we have gone from a four year plan to a three year plan.
Any one looking for a clean 2000 361 Beneteau? I know where one is available!
Stay warm this winter! I plan to.
