Hey, We're in Charleston Sort Of
29 April 2016 | St Johns Yacht Harbor, Charleston SC
Craig, hot and muggy, 90!
After 3 great days at Lady's Island Marina we were off to Charleston today in the rain! The sun came out soon enough and it got up to 90 degrees. The 67 miles went by pretty quickly with all the pushes we got from the Tide. Thank goodness we were on a rising half tide going through the Asheappoo Cutoff as we saw 5.5 ft in spots which means 3 ft at low tide! Yikes! We hurried to Charleston because of impending afternoon thunderstorms that showed up at 4:00pm after we tied up at St John's Yacht Harbor, just outside Charleston. I did manage to take a dip in the pool before the storm. Lawrence and Elaine from Elle & I are also here and they invited us to there boat for happy hour. Friends of theirs who moved to Charleston recently also showed up with some fabulous Indonesian food that they made. Of course we had a Dark and Stormy, an Elle & I specialty, followed by Lawrence's world famous Irish Coffee complete with sugar glazed glass! Donna managed to get a few loads of laundry in.......shocker! Lol. It was a great evening and tomorrow we will head off to Georgetown with Elle & I. By Saturday we should be at Osprey Marina in Myrtle Beach and our plan is to wait there until Brian and Jane show up. The weather is supposed to deteriate after Saturday for a few days and Osprey is super protected and has cheap diesel! And another plus, Charlie and Kay from Plane2Sea will be there for a week! Good to see them again!
