Bridges, Rain, and getting nowhere fast
01 December 2013 | Riviera Beach to Ft Lauderdale
Greg/ Lots of rain.
We left Riviera Beach Marina for our first day on the water away from the dock. We traveled down the Inner Coastal Waterway to Ft. Lauderdale. 55 miles and 21 draw bridges. We learned to hail the bridge operators, wait for the bridges to open (once for two hours since sometimes people and /or government agencies have no common sense) call the coast guard to complain about their bridge opening schedule, and just get used to the boat and it's motor. After a long day we ended up at the Hilton marina in Ft Lauderdale, had dinner, a glass of wine and now it is time for bed. Tomorrow we will actually get to raise the sails.
