Launch date approaching.....

We are 30 days from launch. It's been a hectic time getting things ready but all is progressing toward the goal (if only I'd stop breaking 2 things for each item repaired....). Our slip is subleased, the dog has a home thanks to Bertie (Walter is sooo excited), and we are working on a caretaker for the house. Bank accounts are squared away, a new account with Schwab Bank is in place (they don't charge out of network ATM fees and reimburse all charges from other banks including international) and tested, No International Fee Credit cards are at the ready, our TelCel accounts are "active", both iPhones are unlocked, and a new water line on MissTeak is rapidly being established. In spite of deciding we'd travel light this trip and either do without some of the items we've lugged down and back (i.e. never needed/used) and would do more provisioning in Mexico, we are running out of space. We are also filling the v-berth with clothes and food to give to families along the Baja. Much has been written about the hurricane damage in the Cabo San Lucas area and, as near as we can understand, considerable aide has been provided to that area. But the little villages along the outside of the Baja don't seem to be getting the same attention. These places didn't have much in the first place and, we suspect, are in bad shape - and even if they are ok post hurricane our gifts will be most appreciated. And, it appears, the SSB to sailblogs is working (at least from our Dana Point slip....). We are off to San Francisco in the morning to visit our son for a week, then back to SoCal to continue preparations, off to Palm Springs for a wedding (our god daughter Courtney Raymond), and then we'll push the launch button!
