Rain, thunder and ...
16 March 2015 | Playa Pichilingue anchorage
Chip
After fueling at Marina Palmira we headed toward an anchorage on Espiritu Santo 3 hours away. 30 minutes later we found ourselves in the middle of a very impressive thunderstorm complete with buckets of rain and lightening. With the radar screen once again bright red with cells (I was able to filter much of this out after reading the operating instructions for our radar following the last thunderstorm...) we diverted into the Playa Pichilingue anchorage. What a cool little place - over the peninsula is the Baja Ferries building (home to the gigantic truck carrying ferries we dodge at mid-night every time we cross from Mazatlan to the Baja) and within this bay are a few palapa restaurants along with several panga operations! The photo shows the ferry building and some dark sky in the background - more rain and lightening on the way! Oh and that is a water skier in the photo - I mean why not water ski in a lightening storm (I love Mexico!)
