Chip
After 2 days at Juncalito, where we walked the beach and met a bunch of really nice people (some who invited us to come visit them in their home town), we moved up to Loreto to shop. Anchoring off the town and grabbing a taxi to take you around to the various stores, especially with KT, is always an interesting experience - we can never go to just one store (who knew there were a dozen hardware stores in Loreto....). But the shopping was a success and we are once again fully stocked except for cerveza which we'll get at Puerto Escondido (shorter distance to carry all that weight...). By noon the anchor was up and we were headed to the Loreto Bay Golf Resort anchorage. The golf course here is just beautiful with some very difficult holes - we walked to the clubhouse and made a 0900 reservation for tomorrow. We will beach land the dink, drag our clubs through the bushes and a construction area to the clubhouse. According to KT this will be closer and easier than landing at the marina and walking on the sidewalk to the clubhouse (hey - who am I to question such wisdom...). Barritt and Renee are closing in and, in fact, we bumped into a fella who knows them. 2 years ago when we were here, we all agreed to subject ourselves to the timeshare haranguing with the promise of a free round of golf from Ricardo (the haranguer/salesman). Long story short, the day of the golf game came, Ricardo was nowhere to be found and the clubhouse staff told B&R to pound sand on any free round of golf (KT and I had decided to pass). Well KT and I bumped into Ricardo today - he actually brought up the saga when I told him Serendipity was on our heels and soon to be anchor down in Loreto Bay.... I gotta feeling that this gyration isn't over just yet.... 85 in the air, 77 in the water, calm and clear - cockpit movies tonight!

Not sure what's ahead for us. After 41 years of owning sailboats and sailing MissTeak on 3 extended trips into Mexico, we sold her and have purchased a powerboat. We're planning to spend the next several months learning the boat, building inventory and getting used to the roar of twin 450hp [...]
