We have been in Ucluelet for the last couple of days. After leaving Esquimalt we had a calm overnight motor out the Strait of Juan de Fuca - beautiful sunset over Cape Flattery -- and up to Bamfield. Hiked from Bamfield out to Keeha Bay and spent a relaxing few nights in the Barkley Sound's Broken Group, where we were treated to a night-time show of phosphorescence as a sea lion chased schools of juvenile salmon around the boat! The fish kept running into the boat all night and in the morning we found some dead ones wedged in between the rudder and skeg!
In Ucluelet, Norm and Myrna came for a visit and to deliver our last-minute marine hardware goodies, we also got in some beach walking.
Now we're attaching those goodies to the boat and watching the weather for a good departure date, probably within the week!
