We had an uneventful 30 nm crossing to the west side of Santa Catalina Island at the end of November. It is a beautiful place - we took a mooring in very protected Catalina Harbour which is absolutely full of moorings, as are most of the larger coves on the island. It's hard to imagine how crazy it must be here in the summer, but now it is quite peaceful. At least half of the boats here belong to locals of the little town of Two Harbors, tucked between the two biggest coves on this end of the island.
