Estamos in Mexico, where anything is possible!
Calm, overcast, rain predicted next couple of days

We checked in on the 17th - about 3 hours of walking around in circles, filling out forms, paying fees, and generally looking like goofy gringos while practicing our rudimentary Spanish!
Luckily all of the offices we needed to visit (Immigration, Customs, Port Captain, Fishing License and Bank) are conveniently in one building which smoothes out the process quite a bit. About six boatloads of English-speaking cruisers were checking in that morning, obviously a bit trying for a couple staff members who perked up noticeably as the gringos left the building!
After the check-in we got a chance to wander around town, which is nice enough - there is a big tourist district that seemed a bit empty though a cruise ship pulled into town early this morning so hopefully that helps out the local economy.
As I write this I'm listening to the local cruiser net on VHF ch 69, including extensive weather, random world news and local events.
Had a full boat for happy hour last night, a fun gathering of other southbound boaters!
