Hiking on Isla San Francisco

We have spent the last week and a half exploring the anchorages between La Paz and Puerto Escondido, and they have been absolutely gorgeous. The desert landscape and the clear blue water are still novel to us. It is a nice change to be in quieter anchorages than we experienced on the mainland. Hiking has also been great, rocky with huge views, kind of like being up in the alpine but with the sea right there.
Snorkeling at Isla San Francisco was excellent – the water there was the clearest so far – we could see our anchor and chain in 30 feet!
We are now in Puerto Escondido, just south of Loreto, and are in the final few weeks’ countdown till we put Picara to bed for the summer.
