We made landfall mid-morning at Fare, the main town on Huahine - still a very tiny place but with a great mellow ambience, very welcoming to cruisers and with all the amenities we needed.
In the afternoon we were lucky to see the quickly disappearing remains of what we think was a swordfish or a black marlin - a true monster of the deep. Although in some ways it would be nicer to know that he was still out there swimming around, it was also cool to see the crowd that had gathered around the fishermen as they cut hubcap-sized steaks off each side of the fish. That one catch must have fed most of the town that night
