On the 18th June we welcomed two friends and ex-colleagues Andy Branch and Paul Cousans from Agilent for a ‘flying’ visit. They had decided to ride their BMW GS1200 motor bikes from the UK to Istanbul and back as a two week holiday.
We had arranged with a local Taverna (Elena’s) to find a secure spot for the bikes and they arrived mid-afternoon after entering Greece, by ferry, at Igoumenitsa.
Max was anchored in the bay so I collected them in the dinghy and then we had a bite to eat before heading off to the Onassis island of Skorpios for a swim. We then returned to Vlieho for a classical Greek Taverna meal at Elena’s which was a great end to the day.
The next morning I ferried the guys back to their bikes at 7.15am so that they could continue their ride to Asia. It was great to see them both and catch up with news of so many friends.
