After arrival at the Nelly Bay Marina, it was straight to Blue on Blue for an Erin made cocktail.
The next day Lance, the owner of the marina, lent us his 4 x 4 with just enough seat space to take the eight of us on a tour of the island.
Started down at West Point - the bottom of the island.
Here the tour guide in centre can be seen imparting his vast knowledge to an attentive group.
The mighty 4 x 4 in the front, it did a great job, if a bit cramped an bouncing in the back seats I am informed.
Next stop was Picnic Bay Jetty.
We then headed through Arcadia where we stopped to book a restaurant for Saturday night. We also bumped into Jen and John who decided to join us for dinner.
The island is covered in Hoop Pine and Granite boulders.
"Come on group keep up and keep close, you do not want to miss anything"
Rock Wallaby.
After what can be best described as 4 km of deteriorating track we arrived at Radical Bay.
Bikini photo bomb.
We ended up in Horseshoe bay and had Fish and Chips on the beach for lunch.
Saturday evening had us lined up for the bus to Arcadia for dinner. When it arrived, people came from everywhere to get on. Vicki and Rob were just on the bus when the rest of us were grabbed by another driver and taken to another bus. This one would not take our money and had us at the destination 5 minutes before V&R arrived on the original bus. After a drink at the hotel which was like pulling teeth to obtain, we headed to the restaurant.
The restaurant in typical Queensland fashion lived up to my opinion of this State, disappointing in general and patchy at best.
After Robert specifically asked to be in the licensed section, we arrived at The Bikini Tree cafe to find they have set our table up in the Bring Your Own section (which we had not).
So after visiting the local bottle shop to buy some wine we sat down. Some of the food, if you received what you actually ordered, was not to bad, others where very disappointed.
After the owner had an obvious argument with another customer she approached me to see if we wanted any tea or coffee if not they where shutting and would we like to leave. Which we did via taxi for $13 for the 8 of us back to the marina. Bus fare was $2.40 x 8 = $19.20 to get us to the restaurant.
