After waving farewell to Temptress at Peel Island, we headed over to Blakesley's for the night just a bit South of the main anchorage fort a very quiet night after the previous nights excitement. In the morning we upped anchor to head around to Maclay Island to pick up Ruth and Phil. Not long after anchoring and giving the locals a call to come down to get aboard, a car barge came up to us within 10 meters and made it clear in no uncertain terms that we should move as he felt we where in his way.
So after another 3 moves, trying to anchor somewhere away from the moored vessels, clear of the underwater pipelines and power cables we ended up about a mile South of where I wanted to be. So into the dinghy to collect the visitors. On the way back to the dock I crossed in front of the Car barge in the dinghy obviously I could do nothing to please this operator as he let lose with his fog horn at me.
Visitors safely aboard we started to head South and my favorite car ferry was once again departing in front of me. So instead of crossing in front of him, I performed a 360 degree turn and followed him back to the channel. Did not want it to be 3rd time unlucky with him in such a good mood.
We anchored up near Jumpinpin in a place called "The Bedroom" and had a very nice fish supper.
The next day we motored out to look at the bar exit between North and South Stradbroke Island, then headed up North along the Eastern Side of Russel Island.
New floating docks in front of houses on Russel Island. Phil found this quiet confronting as the Environmental Types will allow no such construction for the Adjacent Islands boat club to be able to launch the small sail training boats used for the kids sailing, at low tides.
After our tour up Canipa passage we returned to anchor for the night in a quiet back water away from the now building crowds of weekend boats at Jumpinpin.
Next day we headed around to Dux to catch up with Vicki and Tony (L'attitudes) and Debbie and Peter (Managers of Dux anchorage).
Turned into Party time from 1200 through to 2030, with a a nana nap along the way for most participants.
