Lagoon 450 Moor R&R Kathryn Roper & Paul Rogers

Incorporating the world famous photo series East Coast Australian Walks "Paul did not do" plus the much rarer "See Paul Walk" series of photos. Although two photos hardly a series make. As for grammar, spelling and punctuation (Forgetaboutit)

Boat delivered to Sydney without to much drama, new owner very happy with his purchase and I returned to the Lake on Public Transport aka the train.

Now house hunting kicks into overdrive, very comfortable in Ellen and Geoffs basement but would like to get out of their hair sooner than later.

Cats seem a bit confused they keep looking out the window at garden.

End of an Era, start of a new one.

05 January 2019
Friday was the last morning aboard Moor R&R after 1547 days since we set off from Brisbane, a lot of water under the bridge deck since then. It does not feel like our boat any more, all the personal stuff (Never seen so much anti-foul above the water line) and even the coffee machine are ashore with Kathy and the cats.

Kathy returned in morning (with an Egg and Bacon roll) to help take the boat across the Lake to Belmont Marina for the handover to the new owner.

Then after a hand over on the weekend, I will assist with the sail down to Pittwater next Tuesday (weather gods permitting).

We have had some memorable sails and been to some fabulous places, but the absolute best thing, without a shadow of a doubt in the past four plus years are the people we have met along the journey and the times we have spent with them. (Which in retrospect seemed to more often than not involve an awful lot of eating, drinking and laughing) I have tried my best to keep up, but alas I must bow to some superior party animals out there that have put me to shame.

Kathy and myself will try to find a place to settle back into a less nomadic way of life around Lake Macquarie in the short term anyway. If any of you are passing through by Land or Sea do not hesitate to get in touch.

If you are up in the Whitsundays, do not moan to much if a Lagoon 421 Charter boat (R&R) drops it's pick close behind you some time, it just may have the owners on board.

I doubt we will ever fit 52 people on the charter boat for a cocktail party, like we did on Moor R&R last year, but just maybe we might give it a try some time.

To all that have read, followed along and contacted us via the blog, thank you for your interest in our little 4 1/2 year adventure, hopefully we may have inspired somebody else to step out of there comfort zone and do something different.

Remember life is not a practice run for something else. The only thing of use to in old age when doing anything becomes just hard work are your memories, you can not buy them, borrow them or work for somebody else for them, you need to go out and collect them yourself.

It has been one hell of a ride.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

It's not over till the fat lady sings.

Been a very busy week, multiple trips getting stuff of boat into a larger storage unit in Toronto. The potential new owner and Marine Surveyor arrived from Sydney yesterday and spent 6 hours inspecting and testing and checking over the boat, followed by a sea trial.

No issues showed up that I was made aware of, just need to get the nod from new owner that it is all go for a hand over on Friday 4th Jan.

He will stay in the lake a few days while a run through some systems on the boat with him and do an engine all change and filter swap. Then at this stage he wants me to sail down to Pittwater with him some time around Tuesday the 8th.

We are in full house hunting mode looking at every opportunity, have 3 open inspections today and one private viewing. Another dinghy load of possessions to take to the lock up before hand.

I think this boat should be called the Tardis still have tools, cloths, bedding, stored, food pots and pans. The lock up is 3 meters wide by 4 meters long and all this stuff came off the boat. Scary!!!!

Merry Xmas 2018

24 December 2018
Probably last Xmas blog from Moor R&R. Acceoted an offer on the boat subject sea trial and Survey which is happening on this Friday the 28/12/18. If that all goes well will settle the first week of Jan 2019 and then we will be homeless.

Winning for once Friday.

Started the day in negotiations over the price of the boat, after a real offer to purchase and the mandatory haggling over price. I had dropped to my absolute minimum and other party had stalled $20,000 below that, so I wished him well with his hunt for a vessel and his parting comment was he may be back in touch. So where that leaves it I do not know.

Went into Newcastle to pickup some spares to service the engines and generator over the next couple of weeks. Dropped into a Beaurepair tyre place told him of the problem they took one look at the rear tyre and declared it was delaminted and stuffed. Two new on the front and fronts moved to back and van is all good to go again.

The other lot after dropping the van declared Tyre's where OK. I thought we had left the Cowboys in Townsville.
