More Mischief Wherever We Go

Season 5 begins of five months or five years - October 30th, 2015

Warderick Wells Cay

29 January 2012
This is the home of the Bahamas national park and as such there is no fishing or spearing allowed. The net result is the wildlife in the park is plentiful and varied.
We arrived in late afternoon and promptly ran aground in the channel. With the poor light it was impossible to see the very narrow and deep channel that lead through the string of mooring balls. As luck would have it a fellow cruiser (Polar Pacer) came out and guided us into our ball without further incident.
We stayed here for 4 nights with the days diving off the Exuma sound and snorkeling in the protected water on the leeward side of the Cay. Later that day, we dove on a wreck close to our boat and saw the largest lobster yet at roughly 3 feet in length. The next morning Michael went down to check on the state of the zinc….it completely gone and was then promptly replaced with a new one. They also discovered that was a piece of line wrapped around the prop which needed to be removed as well.
Evenings consisted of sundowners and appetizers on the beach. This was a great place to relax and at $20 a night very affordable.

Extra: Year three is about to start. We are heading back to Antigua to launch the boat and plan on cruising back up to St. Marten and then over to the Virgin Islands for the season.
