After leaving Marco Island we sailed to Cabbage Key and anchored for the night. We decided to leave there very early (5 am) and sail the entire way back to St. Petersburg. We arrived at our home dock about 6:30 pm Sunday evening. Glad to be home but sad that this chapter of our adventure has come to an end. The two days of sailing from Marco Island were rather cold. We had the wind directly off our bow coming up the coast and we both looked like we were dressed for the arctic north. Pants, jackets, long sleeve shirts and gloves, we donned it all. We shed layers during the day but it was never that warm. As we made the turn into Tampa Bay and by the time we started under the Sunshine Bridge we finally had a good wind. We were doing 8 knots coming up the bay. To our benefit we got in a little earlier (before dark). It is good to be back in our slip and it has been so nice to see our friends. We learned so much on this trip about sailing, cruising and ourselves. We met so many nice people and visited islands, coves, and interesting places. Satagraco served us well and came through the trip like a champ. This adventure will have to start up again. There are more islands and places to explore and so many more people to meet. Until next time-----------
