And then there was Sandy!
Just when we thought the 2012 hurricane season was over, along came Hurricane Sandy, the first significant storm to hit Oriental, NC and Waterdog's home on Whittaker Creek. October 27th and 28th were the craziest, with 40+ mph winds and a 4-foot storm surge, Waterdog showed a lot of waterline at dock level as she rode up and up.
Then sometime during the night of the 28th, the surge "flushed" out of the Neuse River and back to Pamlico Sound as Sandy continued swirling up the East coast. We were lucky! On to points south as the Waterdog crew prepares for her Fall cruise.
