San Blas

21 June 2012 | 9 32.722'N:78 53.754'W, Cay Limon
Peter via Satphone
San Blas! We just dropped anchor in 20 meters of water, surrounded by reefs and a few small islands, Cayo Limon. Trip up here was uncomfortable with winds from all directions except the good one and mostly 15 knots on the nose. Anyway, we are getting ready now to do some snorkeling, followed by a well deserved glass of wine at "sundowners" time which will start today at 16:00 instead of 17:00 on board Mundinho. We dropped anchor last night at Puerto Linton. We had planned to depart at midnight, in order to arrive here at daybreak, however alarm did not go off so I only woke up at 03:00. Then while departing I tried to cut a corner, a spot I had visited earlier, and ran aground (sand bar) while working my way out of the always busy anchorage of left alone, abandoned sailing boats, most without anchor lights. So all in all not a good start of the day. But the view we have now makes it all up. White beaches, palm trees and crystal clear waters, filled with sea life. G etting the speargun ready now.
