We have now relocated to Uchutupu Pippi, yes I know a mouth full. It is really postcard beautiful here. There is no internet around, so we post the blogs via the sat phone which means we are not able to post any pictures really. They will come later. Clear water, beach covered island with palm trees and a few Indian huts. Anchored in deep clear water behind large reefs, extending for over 300 meter in front of us. You can see the heavy swell of the Caribbean sea and still we are in still waters, the good protection of reefs. We have been snorkeling and spearfishing yesterday afternoon and although I missed twice, I am sure today will shoot a fresh meal. Earlier we had bought lobsters from local Indians, the Kuna's. Heloisa was waiting for me to bring back lobster, but I am terrible in bringing back food to the table (except for if there is a super market around). So after waiting two days she bought lobsters from the Kunas, which she made a great meal of. Our stern is anchored 100 meters from shore with East winds, in 10 meters of water. On the island there are few Kuna family's. One family, living right behind us in the island had their kitchen hut go up in flames yesterday. We even went down to help them but within 5 minutes the whole hut was burned down to the ground. They built the huts from sticks and leafs so it did not take much. A sad story as they lost all their pots and pans etc. They life a primitive lifestyle, not much has changed in the last 100 years. Yes they have cell phones now sometimes, but they come at the sailboats and ask them to charge them, as they do not have electricity. Heloisa gave them an old backpack with "stuff" inside to sweeten the pain. We used our days to clean the underwater part of the boat which is always necessary in the tropics, no matter how much poison paint you have applied. I will also clean the white stripe right above the water line today, as it has a yellowish oily shine from lying in Colon for 4 weeks. First I have to get out with Auke and hunt for a meal on the reefs. All well with boat and crew.
