Comments:
Classic Centerboard design by famous D. Koopmans Sr. As with all his designs, they excel in seaworthiness, cruising performance and safety. This Koopmans is fully equipped for long distance cruising and outfitted with twin cockpits.

General:
Aluminum sailing yacht Koopmans 42 Ketch, built in 1985. Aluminum Hull, deck and superstructure. Round bilged hull. Full bilged keel, skeg hung rudder, hydraulically (manually) operated centerboard.

Displacement approximately 12 tonnes of which 6 tonnes ballast (lead).
Fuel tank 1x 525 ltrs. Freshwater tanks 2 x 275 ltrs.

Mechanical Wheel and tiller steering. The foil shaped centerboard is hollow, contains no ballast. All lead ballast is poured into hull only.

Accommodation:
Classic mahogany interior. 2 cabins and saloon. 4 + 2 berths. Dinette headroom 1.85 mtrs. 1 x u.w. toilet manually operated. 1 x shower. U‐shaped galley with large worktops and double sinks. Electric pressurized fresh water. Manually (foot pump) operated freshwater. Manually (hand pump) operated
seawater in galley. Two burner gas stove with oven. 12 V fridge.

Rigging:
Ketch - Cutter rigged. Rondal aluminium white coated masts, s.s. standing rigging (new 2008). Sails; 1 x Mainsail, Mizzen, hanked on Stay sail, furled cutter sail. 1 x booster (large half winder) in sock. Double telescopic outreach poles. 2x48st primary sheet winches, 2x42ST secondary sheet winches, 3x 40ST halyard winches, 1x30 ST halyard winch, all by Lewmar.

Machinery:
Volvo Penta MD30 65hp (47kw) diesel from 1985. Indirect cooling system, mechanical gear box, s.s. propeller shaft, three bladed fixed propeller, cruising speed approximately 7 knots, economic, 5.5 knots. Consumption approximately 3.5 ltrs per hour. Manual bilge pump rigid. Manual Gusher large capacity bilge pump portable.

Navigation:
Sestrel compass, NASA Speed and Depth and Wind. Furuno GPS, Furuno NAVTEX, VHF with DSC, hand held Garmin GPS (back up), Freiberger sextant. Autohelm6000 Autopilot. BR24 Radar (Broadband). Northstar 10" chart plotter. Dedicated navigation laptop connected to 19" LCD screen at chart table with C-MAX navigation software.
