Marina world

16 May 2012 | Colon, Panama
Peter via internet
We are back in the Shelter Bay marina in Colon, Panama. I am getting ready for a trip to Holland (by plane), leaving tomorrow together with Auke. In order to look decent again I asked Heloisa to cut my hair this morning. On the dock next to the boat. She has cut my hair before, on board which became a mess with my cut off hair everywhere, blown around by the wind. Weeks later we still found chunks of hair blogging drains etc. So this time I thought it was a great idea to do it on the dock while we are here in the marina. Well half way the hair cutting process Heloisa suddenly became awkwardly quite. Upon me asking what happened, she only answered, we have a little problem. Me, by now really concerned turned around and found her staring into the water and hands empty. She had dropped the scissors in the marina water!! So here we are, I have now the left side cut and the right side uncut and we are 45 minutes bus ride away from the nearest town. The only other pair of scissors we have on board is one for kids to cut paper and one for me to cut heavy rubber gaskets. She is going to give it another go with one of these scissors. Woman, why do you even bring them along on these trips I wonder sometimes... They certainly have their useful purposes on board and most of the times are great company to an grump like myself. However cutting hair is certainly not one of their useful purposes.
