On the water at last

We are anchored and tied back in Abelike Bay in Meganisi, our most favourite spot. We have Madeleine and Clive and their two children aboard and they have found two children moored next door which is very unusual.

We are anchored and tied back which allows a number of boats to be packed into a small bay similar to med mooring onto a quay.

We arrived on Sunday via England and Rome (more on that later) and spent four days cleaning provisioning and working with trademen who were completing our list from September! The boat was covered in dust outside but was well sealed and the dehumidifier seemed to have kept it dry and there was not sign of vermin which was a relief. Our forst BBQ plan was a bit of a shock though when we found a hornets nest under the BBQ cover.

It was a lovely feeling driving out of the marina and surprisingly, like riding a bike, it all seems to be coming back to us. My knee seems fine but I can’t kneel, so reverting to Catholicism is probably now out of the question unless I leave it till I am lying on my deathbed.
