Floating in the Foam

7May10 Floating in the foam (53'33.49N,129'34.17W)

From Windy Bay we headed up past Butedale (where I've included a pict of SKIE as it passed by the waterfall at Butedale), and up to Whale Passage, where we saw some Right Whales, and then into Grenville Channel to Lowe Inlet. Grenville is narrow and has many waterfalls with snow-capped summits visible beyond the high walls of the channel.

Once in Lowe Inlet, we anchored back in Nettle Basin a ways below the waterfall. Its a deep spot, over 90 feet, but the current, which was running about half a knot, held us steady. That night, when the tide level fell, a stream of foam enveloped the boat, trailing behind us in the moonlight. Very cool.

Now we're headed for Brundige Inlet on Dundas Island in the middle of Dixon Entrance. Conditions are flat calm and blue skies. Absolutely amazing and perfect weather. Its even warm when the sun shines. Could not be better.
