Today was a lot like the day before - cold in the morning but warming up to the high 60's, light winds, sunny skies.

I left the marina around 10:30 and planned to anchor off of Fountaineblue State Park for awhile. I called a friend who has stopped by the marina on numerous occasions to see if he was in the area; he was in Covington, just up the road, so I headed back in to pick him and his son up at the marina.

After a quick tour of the boat, we cast off once again and motored back out to the lake. This time we head to the southwest for a few miles, then tacked east towards the park before heading in on a broad reach. We tried wing-and-wing for a while, but there wasn't a lot of wind.

Got back in around 3:00.

Shore power was off for a week, so I had to wait 30-45 minutes for the batteries to charge... they need replaced, especially the starter battery.

What a nice day... light breeze, sunny, high 60's. As I was preparing to depart the slip, six to eight sailboats passed by on their way to an afternoon race.

By the time I got out to the lake, there were at least a dozen sailboats getting in position for the start of the race. I put the main up as soon as I got out of the harbor, then fell off on a close reach and kept to the northeast, hugging the shoreline.

I sailed south/southeast for about an hour and a half, coming about just before Goose Point and heading back in on a reverse course.

Left Prieto around 11:15, sails up at 11:30. First time since September!

"C'est La Vie", a 30-foot Catalina, pulled alongside and invited me to race next Saturday with the Corinthian Sailing Association.

Winds were from the west/southwest at 10 mph, moving around to southeast in afternoon - nice sailing at 4.5-5.5 knots. Once trimmed I hardly had to touch the wheel, this boat has great tracking.

Loitered off of Fountainebleu State Park as the CSA racers were on an upwind leg so I could take some pictures.

Pulled back into marina around 3:30.
