Golfito

We arrived in Golfito around 3:30 on Jan 19th, the first night we anchored and then went ashore to check out the marina's. There are 2 marina's and a mooring field side by side. We ended up staying in Banana Bay Marina for 1 night but it was a little pricey at $2.50 per ft, the next day Fish Hook Marina had told us to come and see them, Monday, as they would likely have a spot and they did. A lot better price $40 per night plus electricity, water & Wifi included. We stayed here 2 nights. Banana Bay marina has the best food around and reasonably priced.
The first day we cleaned the boat and Ken found a fellow that could help us with some of the electrical problems that needed fixing. Larry helped us fix the Stop button for the engine, so that was great, a thing of beauty! The next day, Monday, we started to work on our charging problem and the wind instrument. At the end of the day the wind instrument was working but still a few things to be done regarding the charging problem. He works at a Hunter dealership in Mystic and is a great resource for us. Tuesday he managed to do a rigging check for us and all is good. Still a bit more to do re the charging system but it is time to move on. Now they have figured out the problem we will continue to try to fix it. On Monday Carole went shopping and provisioned and also went to pick up the ticket so she could go to the Duty Free Zone on Tuesday. Tuesday was check-out day and the officials were absolutely great, you could not ask for nicer people. She also went to the Duty Free Zone and picked up some Rum and Wine. Tomorrow morning we leave to head towards Panama, unfortunately there is not much internet between here and Panama so it may take a while to do the updates, we will try to update via Winlink but no pictures until we get to Panama.
