Back into the Swing of Things

First important update is that Bob is well and back in action. Two weeks with his back problem and an additional week with vertigo certainly put a strain on his fishing plans.
Time flies by so quickly everyday, we wonder how in the world we ever got anything accomplished when we were working. But then again, we move a little slower here on the island and that is certainly one of the reasons we love living here.....the slow pace.
Monday, June 18th we celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary, with lobster for dinner at our home. They say the first anniversary gift is "paper" and I received a bouquet of flowers that were wrapped in paper and we shared a bottle of wine that came in a brown paper bag. Dessert...dark chocolate and strawberries, everything was very yummy.
Bob went fishing Monday, (zero salmon, he is a bit rusty since he has been away from salmon fishing for awhile), Tuesday,(one beautiful 16.50 lb salmon, gutted) and today, (another beauty at 18 lbs, before gutting). The first salmon we cut into steaks, ate a couple of steaks for dinner last night, froze the rest and todays catch is getting smoked. We purchased a Bradley smoker when we moved back home, not sure if I mentioned this in an earlier blog. So far we have smoked ribs, a pork roast for pulled pork and now the salmon which will be smoked tomorrow.
I don't expect any more planting or building to be done around here for the rest of the summer by Bob as he will have no time to spare while he is fishing.
Check back tomorrow for some more updates on our activities Campbell River.
