Split Sailing Club – Spinut Yacht Harbour
Had to run the fireplace to get our blood flowing – 12C this AM. We designated today as a workday. After Brian washed the deck, Rene cleaned and polished the Plexiglas ports & hatches and Brian did an oil change. Throw in a run to the grocery store, a couple of showers and the day was shot. A little less windy and the temp climbed to 23C. Quite tolerable. After a couple sundowners, we went to the restaurant here at the marina which turned out to be quite good. Rene asked for a local specialty called Pasticada (beef cooked in vinegar wine and prunes) The waiter had no idea what she had asked for (our Croatian has really not progressed at all) but I took him to the sign board where he clued in. I had an octopus goulash which was excellent and Rene thoroughly enjoyed her beef. Two guitar toting singers topped off the evening before we headed back to our chilly cradle. Not surprisingly, the charter boat was still in their slip, so we could not move Necessity tonight, this meant that we were not heading to Dubrovnik on the 8 am bus. Another windy, rolly night!
