Crew
After a busy and hot (35+) last few days cleaning and preparing Necessity for her 3 month sojourn on the hard, the captain and crew were enjoying a well-deserved swim and cool beverage by the marina pool when a 6.1 earthquake rattled through the region. Our chairs shook, window panes trembled, and people swayed to and fro but no serious effects. Fortunately, Necessity was nestled safely in her steel cradle. This is an extra charge as the usual support method is only 6-8 large sticks wedged against the hull to support the boat. With a capacity of 3000 boats, one can well imagine the potential for damage in such a popular boat yard. Well worth the additional cost for the cardle especially in this area of frequent seismic activity.
