Got groceries and then arranged for diesel to be delivered to the boat by bicycle after being ordered at the grocery store. The paperwork is organized and we are off leaving Marmaris. It is located in a large bay surrounded by mountains with only a narrow pass out to the Med. Unfortunately we were into the wind and powered until approx. 2:30 to Serce Limani, a hammer shaped bay. We were immediately assisted by a very friendly Turkish chap who helped us attach to a mooring buoy owned by his Father’s restaurant. He then assured us squid and octopus were fresh and on the menu at Captain Nemo’s Farm Restaurant. This is a beautiful and sheltered bay and obviously popular as the boats kept arriving until every mooring spot was taken. The hillsides are very mountainous with Angora goats scampering up and down the rocks to get a drink at the seaside. They seemed fine drinking salt water.
They kept us amused with their various colours sizes and horn shapes. We had a free taxi ride to the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meal of local calamari and octopus. The whole operation in this bay is run by one family and they do an excellent job of making you welcome, even though the dinner cost was a bit excessive. They gave us a shuttle back to the boat and promised to deliver some freshly baked bread in the morning.
