After a mediocre breakfast buffet at the hotel Stew, Ange and Brian went to see the Greek and Roman theatres and the large quarry with several caves, The caves were used to contain thousands of prisoners in ancient times. The Greek amphitheatre was being readied for an Easter spectacle and was under major renovations. On our return we packed up and collected Rene who was now feeling a bit better and headed off to the airport with Stew sporting a parking ticket as a souvenir. A frenzied drive around Catania ensued as we looked for the elusive rental car lot but in the end, the car was delivered to its owner and we bid a teary farewell to Stewart and Angela as they jetted off to their next destination in Amsterdam.
We spent a couple hours in a mall over lunch before it was time to collect our new arrivals Jim & Jackie Southcott who were arriving from Canada. It took a few wrong turns but we were soon off to Licata where we got them settled aboard Necessity before dark. A big improvement on the last arrival! We enjoyed dinner at our favourite restaurant La Faibe before turning in for an early night. A quiet one it was not to be. The wind blew heavily and squalls tossed Necessity in her slip throughout the night.
