Visiting the Old Stomping Grounds

This won't be particularly long.

We are in Ottawa at present sitting in a coffee shop having the breakfast of champions - coffee and a croissant. We have been into the respite care home every morning now to see mom and although it is the best place for her as she had gotten to a point that even with the best of intentions my brother couldn't take care of her any more by himself. He is looking more relaxed too. Still, it is very depressing to see the strong vibrant woman who raised us reduced to a frail withered version sitting in a wheelchair, not really sure where she is and not always sure who her visitors are. I wish the human state would let us live out our days in full control and energy commensurate with our age and then when the time has come ...... lights out, g'bye all. I'm not suggesting suicide just a natural way to come to a clean end.

Ah well. Enough maudlin mewings. Friday we will be off to Barrie to see son Chris and then probably Monday or Tuesday on or way home again.
