Today started off slow and went downhill as far as I am concerned. Shopping! Barb warned me to bring a good book and be prepared to nap. Shudder!
We did do one interesting thing, however. We may have found Chris a place where he can buy some police tactical kit to take home with him. We stopped off at the Gulfport Police Department and Chris flashed his badge and asked them if they could give them an address for a place where he could make his purchases. We were told about two both within 30 minutes of the marina so tomorrow that will be one of the jobs that we'll do to get him his stuff.
We spent the majority of the day in the outlet malls again shopping around, and around, and then around some more. I got some more useful stuff for the galley and an under armour micro fleece for those cool nights on watch. Barb and Taunya did a really good job of shopping with Barb getting a bunch of under armour clothing and Taunya getting a really attractive long sweater but her big splash purchase was a Coach handbag that normally is $400US that she got for about $120 and our little boy, Chris, ever the gent, paid for half of it. Did we raise him right or what?
We came back to the boat and a fill of the water tanks and a pump out of the holding tank. I am beginning to think that we have a leak in one of the holding tank fittings, probably at one of the top ones as there is a slow trickle coming from the forward part of the boat. It should be relatively easy to fix, but I have to take the stairs out etc. so that too will be something for tomorrow morning.
Peri got walked by the two younger members of the crew so as that is usually my chore he must have thought something unusual was up. He definitely came back with a spring in his step.
Just as we were finishing these chores, our friend Paul Barr appeared at the boat. What a great surprise! We hadn't seen him since Christmas dinner on Boxing Day and here he is to see Chris and meet Taunya. He even brought presents - for me a US Army ball hat and for Barb a sketch from the St Petersburg Art Market. We have invited him to join us when we head out to Egmont Island for a day sail. We are sort of running out of time with Chris and Taunya so we'll have to do that fairly soon. I just spoke to Barb and we'll look at Wednesday or Friday for Busch Gardens and one of the days on the weekend to go out to Egmont Key. This will involve a quick stop at the fuel dock for diesel and gas and then timing our departure for the tide and the bridge openings.
