Temps got down to 35 with wind chill of 28 but we stayed toasty on board. A 9:30 departure to time currents again leaves time to update the blog. The Savannah River has some serious water traffic. We came upon the cargo ship, Dubois Express, and I went to the bow for a photo when Don pointed and warned to hold on, a set of three foot waves were headed towards us, needless to say I got a bouncy ride and my photo was timed a bit late. Traffic was tamer as we rejoined the ICW. Georgia's ICW is one long twisty length of water. We traveled 51 miles and did't get very far down the state. However, meandering past huge grass fields bird watching was peaceful. We passed by a pelican bomb squad making big splashes as they dove for their evening meal. Watching a flock of pelicans in flight is like watching synchronized dancing. The leader flaps down, then the next two, then the next two, by the time the last two flap down the leader is flapping up and the process continues as they glide gracefully skimming just above the water's edge. Rafting up with SeaQuell we can smell the white chicken chili Becky has prepared for our evening meal. Another 1/2 game of dominos rounds out the day, Don winning over Robert by a hair.
