Don tried out the new bow thruster on the short trip to the pump out station. I walked over and caught lines. Looks like it's going to be a great investment! I hiked uptown with backpack to get the frozen veggies and last minute groceries while Don took care of last minute boat chores. We walked over to the Urbanna Town Marina to visit Diane, the Dock Master. It was nice to have the time to catch up before departing. Our first little hop across the River to the Tides Inn Marina was quite peaceful. We fueled up and made use of the bow thruster turning around in tight quarters, love it! The sail down the Rappahannock River was slow, having to motor sail at times. The wind picked up as we neared the Chesapeake, and we had a lovely sail into the Piankatank River and then into Fishing Bay, our anchorage for the evening. We were entertained even before setting anchor by large schools of little fish roiling the waters surface. Searching for signs of dolphin, we found none. That left us wondering what other big fish were riling up the bait fish. The splashing of those pockets of fish could be heard late into the evening, and what a beautiful evening it was! Must be why it's called Fishing Bay.
