Ness's Travels

After 4 days, we are definately into our routines.....we can now work easily with the miriad of lines, and even with 3 of us in the galley we can still get work done, and a good rest comes easily with sleep periods of 6 hours.

Since we are 3, we have set our watches(lookouts) to 3 hours each, which gives us 6 hours of continuous sleep. We could have done 4 hour watches, giving each of us 8 hours of continuous sleep, but a 4 hour watch is really difficult at night. Essentially during the daylight hours when we are all up, we all share the watch.

We have been motoring almost 85% of the time partly because of light winds on the stern, but mainly because we want to make it to the small port of COQUIMBO - approx. 160 miles north of VALPARAISO - during daylight so we can refuel. From there it will be a straight line to Santa Cruz, Galapagos in 7 days from now....more or less.

And remember, "a lousy day at sea, beats a great day at the office !"
