recently updated:Chris started sailing in his late teens, his first 'sailing vessel' an 11ft Sea Snark. Sheila learned to sail with Chris on a 31 ft Catalina, many years later. [...]Chris's dream was to sail when he retired and he asked Sheila what she thought and she said Why not! But wait, I just got used to docking this boat?
We initially started with a three year plan. We already owned a 310 Catalina but wanted a more sea going vessel. We did research, we consulted experienced cruising friends, then finally based on their strong recommendations we decided we had to go to the Annapolis boat show to see catamarans. So in Oct of 2005 we went and looked at them all, took notes, took pictures and went home and stewed, researched, debated with ourselves and friends, then decided. On Dec 9th, 2005 we contracted for our boat to be built in Cape Town South Africa. The boat build start was Sept 2007 with finish date Sept 2008. We left for South Africa on Aug 24 2008, arrived there to see her being finished, splashed in the water then exhibited in the Cape Town International Boat show in Oct 2008. Since then it has been a joy to sail and own our Admiral 40 ft Executive Catamaran "Neverbored". We set sail on Nov. 5 ,2008 for a voyage from Cape Town, South Africa to Ft Lauderdale, Florida, over 8200 miles with three stops along the way, St Helena, Brazil and St Lucia. We arrived on Dec.30,2008 in Fort Lauderdale our destination for final equipment installs on our vessel before heading to the Bahamas for the rest of the winter months. Two more seasons from Bahamas to Maine back to Bahamas to Turks & Caicos to Bahamas and Bahamas to Maine back to the Bahamas to Virginia. Then to the current season Virginia on our way to the Caribbean. We have sailed well over 25,000 miles in the past three years. More to come, more adventures and more friends added along the way. We feel our boat name says it all when it comes to travel and adventure.
