Flameco beach,Culebra

20 January 2016
We sailed from Brewer's Bay,StThomas to Culebra. Linda and Amy sail with us,they extended their stay and are flying out of San Juan,Puerto Rico. On arriving at Malone's beach we pick up a mooring ball. Linda and Chris take the dingy into Dewey to check on and reserve a golf cart for a day. A golf cart would be the best way to see the Island plus Amy has a leg brace and crutches, a lot better for her. They rent a six person golf cart and invite Tony and Theresa from Southern Cross to join us.
The day started at 9 am, Chris at the wheel..we went to the various beaches of the islands stopping for a bit to eat at Flamenco beach and a swim. A popular landmark is a World War II-era tank that lies just short of the shore, a relic of the time the U.S. Navy controlled the area.Chris and I also walked the beach to the far end to see the old US tank painted by Jorge Acevedo, from Culebra.
A great day had by all!
