Swing bridge to Lefkas

We began our departure from Andipaxoi as usual under motor and the heat. We left at 8:30 for what looked to be about a six hour trip-30 nautical miles-keeping the engine at about five knots or no more than 1800 rpms. We continued the path south and the winds picked up a little and we sailed on a good broad reach for the last 1.5 hours. We arrived at the swing bridge, tied up to an anchored barge while we waited for the bridge to open. By the time the bridge opened we had another boat rafted to us and four boats in all went through on the southern direction. We entered the canal and the salt flats on either side smelled like marsh land. We filled up the aft tank with fuel at the fuel dock and then headed into the marina.
