Lefkas Town

Spent the day getting parts from the Nautilus Marine store for our roller furling. We had two boat chores to get done and the rest was to tour the town. We noticed that in a town of 1200 people there were 13 Orthodox churches. The priests in the town can't be missed as they wear the traditional long black robes-I just wonder how they do it in 90 degree heat! The town has been hit by earthquakes, as has many other areas in this part of the Ionian Sea. Structures have been rebuilt to fit code and the town's people are not so happy with reinforced concrete buildings instead of the old Venetian influenced buildings.
We had a long talk with the salesperson at the parts store. He encouraged us to continue our sailing into the Aegean next year-he said we would find the winds quite to our liking there-he also volunteered to share any info we wanted since he used to be a skipper.
