Bill and I rented bikes today and cruised around the delightful town of Green Turtle Cay. One part of this area is New Plymouth and home to the most colorful Bahamian homes I've ever seen. Ben Moore should come here to get some new tropical paint colors. We had a great lunch of grouper and one of the local places and continued on to check out one of the many gorgeous beaches. The water is just so pretty we can't stop taking pictures of it. Jessica and Bill were here six years ago together so Bill was very anxious to show it all to me this time around.

Somewhere Over the Rainbow
01/21/2013, Great Sale Cay

The skies were cloudy when we left out anchorage at Great Sale Cay on our way to Green Turtle Cay. We had two very long days moving ahead on our journey to the Abacos and thinking about calling it a day was all I could think about. Fortunately, Mother Nature threw in a beautiful rainbow to motivate us to keep on moving. There were times when the arc actually touched the water, no pot of gold anywhere that we could see however!

Our friend's Liz and Rick took us out snorkeling near their home and boy did we have fun. The water was warm and a shortie wet suit was just perfect. We hadn't been in the water a minute when a five foot Moray Eel swam out in sight right before ducking behind some rocks. Liz, aka "eagle eye" just managed to have her underwater camera ready for a quick snapshot of it. It was the highlight of the trip for sure.

Castaway Cove
01/19/2013, Bahamas

Well after a wild and crazy crossing we arrived in West End Bahamas on the 17th. Went through customs, relaxed at the tiki bar, meet other cruisers and prepared to leave the next day for Liz and Rick's home. Feeling very fortunate to have friends with a home, dock and good times all just a sail away. We did have a great sail from West End to Lucaya which was the nicest of the trip so far.

We will be leaving at the next weather window heading for the Abacos. Judy and Ron arrive on the 29th at Treasure Key and will be our next guests on New Wave. Yippie!
