After a calm night and morning with light winds and smoother seas, the winds have returned this afternoon and we're sailing well again! Its a beautiful day with partly cloudy skies, mixed with bright sun, and medium waves. With 990nm to go, we're making good time, but we've seen the wind drop off quite a bit this morning before returning well, so we're not making any predictions about arrival yet. The math would suggest about 4-5 days at the moment but all could change. We're concerned about our friends on American Spirit II again, as yesterday afternoon they reported they broke their headstay and are holding the mast up with the spinnaker halyard at the moment and limping along with limited sail out. They don't have enough fuel to motor, and unfortunately they're at the back of the pack because of the earlier delay, so we're all monitoring them closely and boats nearest to them are working out ways to meet them to share fuel. They sound like they're doing well and doing all the right things so we'll hope for their late arrival in good shape in Mauritius, and we'll be prepared to turn around if the call comes in. Other than that, we keep chugging along...
